Update on Returning to School

Dear Combs Families,

First, allow me to thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts via our recent Return to School survey. We saw an incredible response rate, collecting feedback from nearly 2,500 families who represent over 3,500 students in our District. Now equipped with this invaluable data, we will continue developing guidelines and processes to prepare the District and families for a safe and comfortable return to school.

This information will be outlined in a comprehensive Pandemic Response Plan, which we anticipate releasing to families and community members by June 30. While our primary goal is to provide in-person instruction for the upcoming school year, this plan will include details for three possible instructional formats based on the COVID-19 conditions: in-person instruction, a hybrid model that includes in-person and remote learning, and an exclusively remote learning format. It will also outline prevention information, safety precautions, and procedures should positive COVID-19 exposure take place.

In the meantime, the District continues to slowly re-open certain operations and activities under the safety guidelines of state and federal officials. This includes the resumption of high school athletics and activities, as well as the anticipated re-opening of external facility rentals in July with additional safety precautions.

We sincerely thank you for your trust and patience as we navigate this together, and look forward to sharing additional information with you in the coming weeks.

Regards,

Dr. Gregory A. Wyman
